Pettit, Royal Australian Army, for gallantry in action against the enemy in the Republic of Vietnam, on 4 April 1970. On this date, Warrant Officer Pettit’s battalion was moving in an open formation north, toward Dak Seang, when the forward platoon ran into an enemy bunker complex and in the initial exchange of fire three Montagnards were hit.
