The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 8, 1918 (amended by act of July 25, 1963), takes pleasure in presenting a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Silver Star to Major John Horace Reddoch (AFSN: FR-25912/AO-2218766), United States Air Force, for gallantry in connection with military operations against an opposing armed force as an F-105 Pilot of the 13th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Korat Royal Thai Air Base, Thailand, PACIFIC Air Forces, in action on 11 August 1967. On that date, while attacking a heavily defended target, Major Reddoch deliberately drew fire from four surface-to-air missile sites in a successful effort to protect major friendly strike forces. Enduring intense anti-aircraft fire, he destroyed one missile site, twice re-entered the target area, and attacked two unfriendly aircraft in a desperate bid to aid two stricken friendly aircraft. By his gallantry and devotion to duty, Major Reddoch has reflected great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
