Under the provisions of Department of Defense 1348.33-M, the Secretary of Defense has awarded the Defense Superior Service Medal to Captain Victor A. White, United States Naval Reserve, for exceptionally superior service as Director, Directorate of Reserve Forces, National Security Agency/Central Security Service, from October 2016 to December 2019. During this period, the outstanding leadership and ceaseless efforts of Captain White resulted in major contributions to the national security of the United States. He demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment, vastly improving the Reserve component’s already impressive contributions to National Security Agency/Central Security Service operations, and provision of actionable intelligence to the larger Intelligence Community. Captain White’s attention to detail ensured the National Security Agency remained the preeminent foreign signals intelligence organization in the world, during tis most transformative era since its foundation. The distinctive accomplishments of Captain White culminate a long and distinguished career in the service of his country and reflect great credit upon himself, the United States Navy, and the Department of Defense.
