The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Soldier’s Medal to Private Dale R. Bostwick (ASN: 35002538), United States Army, for heroism not involving actual conflict with an enemy of the United States while serving with Headquarters, 37th Infantry Division, in action at New Georgia, on 8 July 1943. Private Bostwick successfully extricated a wounded pilot from a burning airplane after a crash landing. The exemplary courage and heroism displayed by Private Bostwick reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
