The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, 20 July 1942, takes pleasure in presenting a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Legion of Merit to Brigadier General [then Colonel (Air Corps)] Eugene Harold Beebe (ASN: 0-17800), United States Army Air Forces, for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Executive Assistant to the Commanding General, Headquarters Army Air Forces, Washington, D.C., from 7 December 1941 to 25 June 1942. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of General Beebe and his dedicated contributions in the service of his country reflect the highest credit upon himself and the United States Army Air Forces.
