(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Second Lieutenant James M. Richards, United States Air Force, was awarded a Second Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Third Award of the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight while serving as an OV-10 Forward Air Controller, 20th Tactical Air Support Squadron, Quang Tri Combat Base, Republic of Vietnam; and subsequently with the 21st Tactical Air Support Squadron, Pleiku Combat Base, Republic of Vietnam, from January 1971 to December 1971. His devotion to duty and courage under all conditions serve as an inspiration to his fellow flyers. His actions reflect the highest credit upon himself and the Armed Forces of the United States.
