Goodwin, United States Air Force, was awarded the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, culminating as Chief of the U.S. Air Force Nurse Corps, Office of the Surgeon General, Headquarters, U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C., from 1988 to 1992. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of General Goodwin culminate a long and distinguished career in the service of her country and her dedicated contributions reflect the highest credit upon herself and the United States Air Force.
