The Secretary of the Army of America takes pleasure in presenting the Army Commendation Medal with Combat “V” to Captain (Infantry) Douglas C. Judice, United States Army, for meritorious achievement as Commander, Operational Detachment Alpha 753, 2d Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), in support of Operation Enduring Freedom on 10 February 2003 in Afghanistan. Captain Judice’s heroic actions contributed greatly to the mission’s success. Under hostile fire, his decisive actions resulted in the maneuvering of his entire detachment through a hill zone without loss of life. His courageous performance of duty in a combat zone reflects great credit upon him, the United States Special Forces Command, the Combined/Joint Task Force-180, and the United States Central Command.
