The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, 20 July 1942, takes pleasure in presenting the Legion of Merit to Sergeant Major Harold David Glassman, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States from 11 January 1991 to 10 January 2001, while serving in various positions of increasing responsibility, culminating as Sergeant Major, Office of the Chief of Public Affairs, United States Army Japan/9th Theater Support Command. Sergeant Major Glassman distinguished himself with absolute professionalism and devotion to duty. He is a superb trainer, leader, and mentor who always placed soldiers first. He constantly provided selfless service, conveying an unparalleled willingness to expend every effort to ensure superior results. Upon retirement, Sergeant Major Glassman is recognized for more than 32 years of exemplary performance, which reflects great credit on him, this Command, and the United States Army.
