(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Sergeant James M. Martin, United States Marine Corps, was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with Combat “V” for heroism in action while serving with the FIRST Marine Division in Korea. During a heavy enemy counterattack which penetrated his platoon, Sergeant Martin left a foxhole and, although under heavy fire, fearlessly directed deadly mortar fire on the enemy, aiding materially in repelling the enemy attack.
