The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Soldier’s Medal to Private First Class Thomas M. Noonan, United States Army, for heroism above and beyond the call of duty not involving actual conflict with an enemy of the United States 23 March 2005 during Operation RED FLAG, Nellis Training Range, Nevada. He performed under hazardous conditions in a remote part of the State, saving the life of a civilian trapped in a crashed vehicle. Private First Class Noonan’s quick reaction and level headed efforts resulted in immediately extinguishing the vehicle fire and stabilizing the victim until medical help arrived, thereby saving his life. Private First Class Noonan’s actions are in keeping with the finest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
