Keithe Nelson was commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program in 1958 upon graduation from the University of North Dakota. From 1988 to 1991 he served as the 9th Judge Advocate General of the Air Force. He retired in 1991 as a U.S. Air Force Major General.
