Robert Labrutta enlisted in the Air Force in 1981, and was commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program in 1989 upon graduation Texas Lutheran College. In 2013 he was appointed a U.S. Air Force Brigadier General, and in 2016 was frocked for his second star as a Major General.
