Bryan Hawley was commissioned in the Air Force in 1967 after receiving his juris doctorate degree from the University of North Dakota. From 1996 to 1999 he served as the 12th Judge Advocate General of the Air Force. He retired in 1999 as a U.S. Air Force Major General.
