Earl O’Loughlin enlisted in the Air Force in 1951, and was commissioned the following year, flying 29 combat missions in B-29s over North Korea during the Korean War. During the Vietnam War he flew Arc Light B-52 missions. He retired in 1987 as a U.S. Air Force 4-Star General.
