Duncan McNabb graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, Colorado, Class of 1974. From 2007 to 2008 he served as the 33d Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force, and during his tenure served briefly from July to August 2008 as Acting Chief of Staff of the Air Force following the early resignation of General Michael Moseley who was serving as the 18th Chief of Staff He retired in 2011 as a U.S. Air Force 4-Star General.
