(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Rear Admiral Earl R. Crawford, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Commander Amphibious Group TWO, from 5 May 1965 to 18 May 1966, for his contributions to the successful testing and evaluation of many new tactical and protective innovations, especially in the areas of command, control and coordination of multi-deck LPH assault landing operations, and communications reliability in normally difficult reception areas.
