The President of the United States of America takes pride in presenting the Navy Cross (Posthumously) to Private Marvin A. Jackson (MCSN: 201478), United States Marine Corps, for extraordinary heroism in battle when on the occasion of the engagement at Iz-Paz Centre, Nicaragua, 16 May 1927, during an insurrection in that country, Private Jackson advanced with other members of his patrol in the face of most unequal and unfavorable conditions and, heedless of great personal danger, fought in a cool and effective manner until he received wounds which resulted in his death.
