(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Captain Kenneth Paul Maley, United States Coast Guard, was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with Combat “V” for heroic achievement of service, not involving aerial flight in connection with operations against an opposing armed force, as Executive Officer of the Coast Guard-manned attack cargo ship U.S.S. CEPHUS (AK-18), when that vessel participated in the assault of Southern France and the assault and capture of Okinawa, Ryukyu Islands, in 1944 and 1945. [Captain Maley is authorized to wear the Combat “V”.]
