(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Chief Machinist’s Mate Ernold R. Goodwin, United States Navy, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroic conduct as Damage Control and Assistant Engineering Officer aboard the U.S.S. SWALLOW (AM-65), at the time of the sinking of that vessel, off Okinawa, on 22 April 1945.
