McLeod, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Communications Officer and later as Operations Officer on the Staff of Commander Transport Division THIRTY-TWO, in the Pacific Ocean Area, from March 1942 to March 1945.
