(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Aviation Machinist’s Mate Second Class Ewin B. Towler, United States Navy, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroic conduct in the rescue of three aircrewmen from a burning Liberator bomber on an airstrip in the Philippine Islands on 20 June 1945.
