(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant, Junior Grade John J. Campbell, United States Navy, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroic action in diving overboard twice and succeeding ion saving the life of a crew member of a downed plane in the Western Pacific, on 7 November 1944.
