(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant, Junior Grade William P. Whitmore, United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as aircrewman of a Patrol Bomber in Patrol Bombing Squadron ONE HUNDRED EIGHTEEN (VPB-118), in the vicinity of Korea, on 5 and 7 May 1945, and 4 July 1945.
