Suayres, United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Leader of a flight of four planes in Fighting Squadron EIGHTY-EIGHT (VF-88), embarked in U.S.S. YORKTOWN (CV-10), over the Sea of Japan, on 30 July 1945.
