Story, Jr., United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Pilot of a Scout Observation Plane embarked in U.S.S. NEW MEXICO (BB-40), in the forward Pacific war area, from 6 to 28 May 1945.
