Jerome Johnson graduated from Texas A & M University in 1956 before entering the Naval Aviation Cadet Program. As a Naval Aviator in Vietnam, he earned the Distinguished Flying Cross and 18 Air Medals. From May 1990 to July 1992, Jerome Johnson served as the 25th Vice Chief of Naval Operations.
