Lansing, United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a Fighter Pilot in Fighting Squadron EIGHTY-SIX (VF-86), embarked in U.S.S. WASP (CV-18), over the Kyushu area of Japan, on 18 March 1945.
