    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant Henry H. Laundy, United States Navy, was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action as Torpedo Computer Officer aboard the U.S.S. SPADEFISH (SS-411), during the FIRST War Patrol of that Submarine in enemy-controlled waters from 23 July 1944 to 24 September 1944. His exceptional skill contributed much to the success of his Commanding Officer in conducting attacks which resulted in sinking enemy ships totaling approximately 40,000 tons, and damaging enemy ships, totaling nearly 15,000 tons. His efficiency was of appreciable value. His conduct throughout was an inspiration to the officers and men in his ship and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
