(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant [then Lieutenant, Junior Grade] Frank R. Gilberty, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Commanding Officer of the U.S.S. LCI (G) 451, at Kwajalein Atoll, Saipan, Tinian, Mariana Islands, Leyte, Lingayen Gulf and the Philippine Islands from 1 February 1944 to 10 January 1945.
