Miller, United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a Pilot in Bombing Squadron THIRTEEN (VB-13), embarked in U.S.S. FRANKLIN (CV-13), during the Battle for Leyte Gulf on 24 October 1944.
