(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant, Junior Grade David R. Teeters, United States Navy, was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action as Plotting Officer aboard the U.S.S. BARB (SS-220), during the NINTH War Patrol of that Submarine in the Pacific Ocean Area, from 4 August 1944 to 3 October 1944. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Naval Service.
