Leonard, United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Co-pilot of a bombing plane in Bombing Squadron ONE HUNDRED EIGHT (VB-108), over the Marshall and Gilbert Islands, on 12 December 1943.
