    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant Commander [then Lieutenant] Morris F. Landon, United States Navy, was awarded the Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action as Torpedo Data Computer Operator aboard the U.S.S. COBIA (SS-245), during the FIRST War Patrol of that submarine in Pacific waters from 26 June 1944 to 14 August 1944. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Naval Service.
