    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Soundman Third Class Liborio Benny Lacca (NSN: 8182469), United States Navy, was awarded the Silver Star (Posthumously) for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action in Lingayen Gulf, Philippine Islands, on 6 January 1945. Soundman Third Class Lacca was severely burned when the U.S.S. WALKE (DD-416) was hit by a Japanese plane, while working with a repair party. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Naval Service.
