(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant [then Lieutenant, Junior Grade] Norman M. Taylor, United States Navy, was awarded the Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action as Commanding Officer of an LCS(R) at Humboldt Bay, New Guinea, on 22 April 1944; at Wakde Island on 17 May 1944; and at Biak Island, Schouten Islands, New Guinea, on 27 May 1944. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Naval Service.
