(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant, Junior Grade [then Ensign] Albert J. Pellegrini, United States Navy, was awarded the Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action as Officer-in-Charge of the U.S.S. LCT 535, attached to unit LCT-6, Flotilla 12, during the invasion of Normandy, France, on 6 June 1944. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Naval Service.
