(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Commander [then Lieutenant Commander] Frank A. Dingfelder, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Communications Officer, Commander 1st Carrier Task Force, in the vicinity of the Marianas, Carolines, Bonins, Halmabera, Philippines, Formosa and Nansei Shoto from June through October 1944.
