(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant Ted N. Swain, United States Navy, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroic conduct as Officer-in-Charge of survivors of the U.S.S. PAMPANITO (SS-383), in the rescue of British and Australian Prisoners of War off the Island of Hainan in the South China Sea on 15 September 1944.
