Vossler, United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Pilot of a heavy bomber in Bombing Squadron ONE HUNDRED TWO (VB-102), in the South Pacific area, totaling 800 hours of flying time, and against enemy Japanese shipping near Green Islands, 26 October 1943.
