Zahn (NSN: 7066284), United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (Posthumously) for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Aircrewman in a Torpedo Plane of Torpedo Squadron FORTY (VT-40), in the Nansei Shoto area from 1 to 24 April 1945.
