Young, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Director of Planning for the Industrial Readjustment Branch, Office of Procurement and Material, from 9 December 1943 to 1 December 1944; and as Deputy to Chief of that Branch from 1 December 1944 to 31 August 1945.
