Porupsky (NSN: 0-363510), United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (Posthumously) for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Pilot of a Diver Bomber in Bombing Squadron SIXTEEN (VB-16), embarked in U.S.S. RANDOLPH over Kure Naval Base on 24 July 1945.
