Greenwood (NSN: 8754635), United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (Posthumously) for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as aircrewman in Patrol Bombing Squadron ONE HUNDRED SI*X (VPB-106) over the Ryukyus, Bandjermasin, Honshu and Shikoku coasts, Japan, from 15 April 1945 to 14 May 1945.
