Fanelli (NSN: 8159573), United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (Posthumously) for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as aircrewman of a heavy bomber plane in Patrol Squadron ONE HUNDRED FOUR (VP-104), in the Pacific areas, from 27 February to 15 May 1945.
