Eisengrein (NSN: 0-86077), United States Naval Reserve, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (Posthumously) for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Pilot of a dive bomber in Bombing Squadron EIGHTEEN (VB-18), embarked in U.S.S. INTREPID, in action over Okinawa on 10 October 1944.
