    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Aviation Radioman Second Class Owen D. Huls (NSN: 8507199), United States Navy, was awarded the Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in connection with military operations against an armed enemy, during World War II. Aviation Radioman Second Class Huls attempted to obtain a boat and supplies for a wounded companion and two others to escape the Japanese before he was caught. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Naval Service.
