The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Navy and Marine Corps Medal to Chief Radioman Joseph B. S. Krueger, United States Navy, for heroic conduct while serving aboard a United States Submarine during war patrols in enemy controlled waters during World War II. During five war patrols in the North Pacific and throughout numerous engagements with enemy surface units, Chief Radioman Krueger carried out his duties skillfully and courageously, thereby contributing to the damaging of enemy shipping.
