Hildreth, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States FROM April 1967 TO June 1968, while serving as Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations to the Commander in Chief Atlantic, the Commander in Chief, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, and the Commander in Chief Western Atlantic Area.
