Lewis, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States from 5 July 1966 to 15 April 1968, while assigned as the Chief of the Organizational Clothing and Equipment Branch, Division of Supply Operations, Directorate of Clothing and Textiles, Defense Personnel Support Center.
